Meaningful Activities for Older Adults

Older adults who continually engage in activities experience improved levels of psychological and physical wellness. The positive effects of activity engagement include increased performance of daily activities, reduced depressive symptomatology and enhanced quality of life.

Join us for the 18th instalment of our Wellness series with Allied Health Coordinator, Trevor Jow, as he addresses the role of meaningful activities in improving cognition and maintaining functional independence.

Trevor attained a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy from Singapore Institute of Technology – Trinity College Dublin. He started his career in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and worked in various departments, from geriatrics, neuro-rehabilitation, orthopaedics, palliative care, hand therapy to community rehabilitation (home therapy). He served as a mentor to junior staff and students and trained clients in motorised wheelchairs and scooters.

As the coordinator for Allied Health Services at Allium Healthcare, Trevor plays an active role in the growth of the operational standards and rehabilitation services at Allium Care Suites and Allium Care Studio.
